Danger's Of Using Electric Fan While Sleeping. Must Read!

Malaysia and Singapore are two hot countries, so hot that some of us can’t fall asleep without air-conditioner. For those who don’t have the luxury of an air-con, sometimes they sleep with the fan blowing on them because, without it, they will sweat like crazy.

But some grandparents have said that sleeping with a fan blowing on you, will cause health issues just like lung problems or it might cause death. That’s the reason why there is a timer on a fan so that you can set it to stop once you’ve fallen asleep.

How true is this?

Well, let’s look at the origin of the theory first. Originated from Korea, the myth that having a fan being blown at you through the night will cause death pretty much.

Ignoring the medical terms, here is what one of the theories proposed; a person’s metabolism rate slows down at night and a person is more sensitive to temperate. The fan might cause the body temperate to go down beyond thirty-five degree Celsius and in the worst case will cause the heart to stop beating due to the low temperature.

But don’t worry, here’s the fact, leading experts in Korea and other parts of the world, they have completely dismissed the theory.

Originally for that theory of causing death with low temperature, it has to bring the body temperate down to twenty-eight degree Celsius in a night, that’s impossible.

They are all being dismissed as old wives’ tales while there are also other myths that could have contributed to this misconception.

In fact, to some extent having a fan blowing on you is pretty useful. The white noise of the fan would make one more relaxed and therefore lead him or her to sleep faster and soundly.

So, have your fan blown at you if you want too. The timer isn’t to save you from dying but to save you from paying more electricity bills!
